What is the difference between PSA oxygen generator and nitrogen generator? PSA is actually a pressure swing adsorption method. One of the nitrogen generators is an oxygen generator. The PSA oxygen generator is generally zeolite molecular sieve, and the PSA nitrogen generator is generally carbon powder sub sieve. Technically, the regeneration time of adsorption pressure equalizing is also different. It is simple to produce gas, but it is not simple to achieve purity flow without wasting gas source.

According to the principle of pressure swing adsorption, nitrogen generator uses high-quality carbon molecular sieve as adsorbent to produce nitrogen from air under certain pressure. The purified and dried compressed air was adsorbed under pressure and desorbed under pressure in the adsorber. Due to the aerodynamic effect, the diffusion rate of oxygen in the micropores of carbon molecular sieve is much higher than that of nitrogen. Oxygen is preferentially absorbed by carbon molecular sieve, and nitrogen is abundant in the gas phase to form finished nitrogen. Then, by reducing pressure to normal pressure, the adsorbent regenerates the adsorbed oxygen and other impurities. Generally, two adsorption towers are set in the system, one for nitrogen adsorption and the other for regeneration. PLC program controller is used to control the opening and closing of pneumatic valve, so that the two towers can cycle alternately, so as to achieve the purpose of continuous production of high-quality nitrogen. The whole system consists of the following components: compressed air purification module, air storage tank, oxygen nitrogen separation device and nitrogen buffer tank.

1. Nitrogen buffer tank: the nitrogen buffer tank is used to balance the pressure and purity of nitrogen separated from the nitrogen oxygen separation system, so as to ensure the continuous and stable supply of nitrogen. At the same time, after the working switch of the adsorption tower, part of the gas will be charged back to the adsorption tower, which can not only help the pressure rise of the adsorption tower, but also protect the bed layer, and play an important auxiliary role in the process of equipment work.

2. Compressed air purification group: the compressed air provided by the air compressor first passes through the compressed air purification module, the compressed air first removes most of the oil, water and dust through the pipeline filter, and then further removes the water through the freeze dryer, oil and dust through the precision filter, and then carries out deep purification through the ultra precision filter. According to the situation of the system, reed company specially designed a compressed air degreaser to prevent the possible trace oil penetration and provide sufficient protection for the carbon molecular sieve. The well-designed air purification module ensures the service life of carbon molecular sieve. The clean air treated by this component can be used for instrument air.

3. Oxygen and nitrogen separation unit: there are two adsorption towers installed with special carbon molecular sieve: A and B. When the clean compressed air enters the inlet end of tower a and flows through the carbon molecular sieve to the outlet end, O2, CO2 and H2O are adsorbed, and the product nitrogen flows out from the outlet end of the adsorption tower. After a period of time, the adsorption of carbon molecular sieve in tower a was saturated. At this time, tower a automatically stops adsorption, compressed air flows into Tower B to absorb oxygen to produce nitrogen, and tower a molecular sieve regenerates. The regeneration of molecular sieve is realized by rapidly reducing the adsorption tower to atmospheric pressure and separating the adsorbed O2, CO2 and H2O. The two towers alternately carry out adsorption regeneration, complete the separation of oxygen and nitrogen, and continuously output nitrogen. All the above processes are controlled by PLC. When the nitrogen purity at the outlet side is set, the PLC program will automatically open the exhaust valve to automatically exhaust the unqualified nitrogen to ensure that the unqualified nitrogen does not flow to the point of use. The noise is less than 75dBA.

4. Air storage tank: the function of air storage tank is to reduce airflow pulsation and play a buffer role; So as to reduce the pressure fluctuation of the system, make the compressed air pass through the compressed air purification component smoothly, fully remove the oil and water impurities, and reduce the load of the subsequent PSA oxygen nitrogen separation device. At the same time, a large amount of compressed air is provided for PSA oxygen and nitrogen separation device to quickly boost the pressure in a short time when the adsorption tower is switched, which makes the pressure in the adsorption tower rise to the working pressure quickly, and ensures the reliable and stable operation of the equipment.
